History:
Ergur, Inc. and its family of companies is owned and operated by the Ergur family. The Ergurs immigrated to the United States from Turkey in the 1980s, bringing with them a keen business sense, a strong work ethic and traditional values.
Koray Ergur was the first member of the Ergur family to arrive in America. Despite being unfamiliar with the English language, Koray put himself through college by driving a taxi cab in New York City and picking up miscellaneous construction jobs as a laborer. Koray quickly learned the various construction trades and, before long, was running his own construction company. Necati Ergur then came to the United States to assist Koray in operating the business in 1994. Construction jobs led the Ergurs to the San Francisco Bay Area, where they have remained.
It was during the early 1990s that the Ergurs took their first plunge into real estate investment. With the help of contacts they had made in the construction business, the Ergurs acquired a commercial warehouse property in South San Francisco, CA. The transaction was a gamble and a serious financial stretch for the Ergurs. The property was vacant, in need of repair, and “distressed” by most accounts. Nonetheless, the Ergurs had a vision for the property and they remodeled it and eventually leased the space to a ‘Fortune 500’ tenant. It is this combination of vision and resourcefulness that defines the Ergur Family of Companies and is the hallmark of their unparalleled success in real estate investment.
The Ergurs leveraged their original investment and have since duplicated it time and time again. The Ergurs have acquired a plethora of real estate throughout California and Nevada, from modest single-family dwellings and apartment buildings to hotels, gas stations, self-storage and multi-tenant industrial warehouse complexes. Ergur Investment Properties (EIP) is the Ergurs’ holding company and now owns over 75 properties, including the very first building, which is now Ergur, Inc.’s corporate headquarters. They also have regional offices throughout the United States, and international offices in Turkey and Columbia.
